Sunday, December 7: Hollywood Studios

Laura begged me to go swimming in the morning so I took her to the pool. The water was warm but it was windy and freezing outside. I let her swim for about 10 minutes and then she was whining that she didn't want to come out. This girl is such a fish.
We met up with friends with their 4 boys at Hollywood Studios. Laura was all shy and needy in the beginning but eventually warmed up to them, especially Jonah who is the closest to her age. They were buddies. She hasn't seen them since we visited them in Baltimore more than 2 years ago. (now there's 4 of them)
The adults went on this and it was much shorter than I remember. I have fingernail marks in my leg from Trina (boys' mom).
The kids hung out and watched some street acts and ate popcorn.

We got back to the hotel and went to ESPN restaurant for dinner.
This is their newest addition, 18 month old Tziyon (sounds like Zion). Such a cutie pie.
After dinner, we went back to Hollywood Studios for the Osbourne light festival. It was really spectacular.
It also snowed.
After tasting it, we realized they were soap bubbles. Blech.

Then just before closing time, we went to the Star Wars store and the boys had to get some make it yourself light sabers. It was so complicated that even their neuroradiologist father couldn't figure out how to put these things together.

We got back to the hotel after 11pm and crashed.

Saturday, December 6th: Magic Kingdom

Laura and I spent the entire day at Magic Kingdom while Laura's dad drove down to Tampa to watch BC football lose to VA Tech .
Laura gobbled up a hotdog before going on Splash Mountain. She watched as people were screaming down the flume and I told her it was really scary but she still wanted to go.
Here we are ready to go on the ride. She doesn't look too confident.
The ride started off pretty fun with all these animatronic squirrels, rabbits and bears, then it got dark and creepy and that's when Laura started crying and weeping out loud and begging me to get off. This is the photo of us on the ride. We are all the way in the back and Laura is huddled under the seat behind that guy's left arm. After the ride, she was completely fine and kept telling me how scary the ride was. After that, any ride that I told her was a little scary she didn't want any part of. See, I'm such a good mom.
Here is Laura riding the Dumbo ride with total strangers because her mom can't do any rides that spin. I did this the whole day asking random strangers to take my child on the ride with them.

We went to Ariel's grotto.
We waited 45 minutes for this. Ugh. I hope she remembers this.
Ariel was very nice and spent a good amount of time with her. Laura was shy. She did get her autograph.

Then we went to Mini Mouse's house.

Then we spent another 30 minutes waiting to meet the other princesses.
Sleeping Beauty.
Cinderella.
And Belle. She was the nicest and spent the most time with her. Don't they look like mannequins?

I think she ate about 4 of these during her trip.

Then we went on the racetrack. Laura drove while I pushed the pedal. After we got off, we went on it for a second time because she liked it so much.

Magic Kingdom parade. Eh.

Maybe she was praying for some more of those ice pops.

It was very cold so I bought this sweatshirt for myself. Laura wore it all night and managed to spill almost every piece of food that she could find on it making it utterly unwearable.
We went to Boma (African restaurant) for dinner at Animal Kingdom lodge and then crashed.

Disney: Friday December 5, 2008

We arrived at Disney just past 3pm.
We stayed at the Dolphin hotel.
We ate dinner at Picabu which is essentially fast food place at the hotel and not very good.
Laura and I took a walk around the hotel and Laura had to check the water temperature for all of the pools.  It was chilly.  She kept begging me to go swimming with her that night.

She wasn't very excited to be here.
After dinner, we walked the Boardwalk and stopped at ESPN restaurant for some drinks and a milk shake. Laura was not very happy because I ate the cherry on MY milkshake so I had to get her one of her own.  The bartender gave her 3.

Dinner and crafts

On Monday night, I made dinner which wasn't very good but just add some dried seaweed and Laura will wrap it up and eat it.  Too bad I didn't have any kimchi.  She would have been in heaven.

Tuesday night we made some pizza.
Then we made a bouquet of construction paper flowers.
