From the beginning

Birth to 3 months
Dec 18, 2003: Conception (on the first try)

Sept 20, 2004 at 3:44pm
Laura was born about 11 days late (ugghh) via C-section after an unsuccessful induction. I wanted to actually give birth even though my husband, mother and father all told me that I would end up with a C-section. Notice Laura's finger? She STILL didn't want to come out!

Sept 24th: First day home at the "old" house.
Sept 30th: the nugget falls off her bellybutton.

Oct 1st: First car accident in dad's car (with a tractor trailer no less) but very low speed and only body damage to the car. All occupants were A-OK.

Oct 4th: First doctor's visit: 7lbs 12 3/4 oz, 21 1/4 inches

Oct 24th: Send off Kato (my cat) to Auntie in NYC.

Oct 31: Halloween: No costume b/c I'm a terrible mother!

Nov 2: Go vote with baby in tow. Of course I voted for Kerry but Bush still won (Uuggh).

Nov 8: First movie: a matinee "The Incredibles". The theatre was bare and Laura slept through most of it. I was the only one laughing out loud.

Dec 1: Visit my parents in Philly

Dec 7: First Laugh

Dec 16: Visit dad's family in Florida

Dec 20th: Return to Boston (3 hour delay)
The water had run out of the heater and it was 7 degrees outside. The house was FREEZING. It took forever for the house to warm up and Laura was bundled up. Welcome back to Boston.

Dec 25: First Christmas. We spent it with our neighbors who invited us to their Christmas brunch. The spread was unbelievable. She made everything from scratch and cooked all night long.

Dec 30: Drive down with Laura to NYC to visit my sister (it took 6 painful hours and I will never do that again!).

Laura 18 months

Laura is 18 months as of yesterday.
I have decided to start this blog b/c I feel the onset of dementia setting in at the ripe old age of 37. I can't believe how fast time has gone by and how much I have forgotten since her birth.
So, this blog is for you, Laura, as well as for myself. This is to keep a journal of your growth and development.
