Vacation

We were invited to New Hampshire at Thomas' family condo, to spend the weekend with them. During the ride up, Laura kept asking me "When are we going to Thomas' vacation?".
We got there late on Friday night.

We took a walk along a trail near the condo and picked wild blackberries.  Laura ate a ton of these and we were scratched by thorns and eaten alive by mosquitos but it was worth it for these black jewels.
Later that day, we took a trip to the Flume Gorge at Franconia Notch State Park.  It's a small hike and really beautiful.  It was a perfect day and absolutely gorgeous.

Then we got some ice cream.

We got back to the condo and took a nap.  That night, we watched some DVDs and the kids did some activities such as coloring and we had to constantly break up their fighting.

We left midday on Sunday because Ymo was coming to visit.  Thanks Thomas for a great "vacation".

girlie girl

I put Laura's hair up with ribbon and dressed her up in her new skirt.  She was so happy being a girlie girl.  This is what I am spending my long awaited free time doing.  It's really more procrastination than anything else.

The weekend

I pretty much did nothing this weekend.  I heard Laura get up and shuffle around upstairs and then she came down in full robe/slipper attire.  She must be getting ready for winter.
Her hair was looking pretty good today so I took some photos.  From these, you would think she was a calm, pensive, serious child but it's just an illusion.  She's a clown.

Popcorn and seltzer

Laura rarely gets carbonated beverages so feels compelled  to thank me every time she takes a swig and make euphoric gestures.

Last day

Friday was my last day at my job and they threw me a surprise luau party with catered food from Blue Ribbon BBQ restaurant.  They also bought me gifts!   It was really a nice surprise and I'll miss a lot of people that I worked with.
I brought some of the decorations home for Laura.
We brought the palm tree to Thomas' house and gave it to him for a present.

What do you want for dinner?

I asked Laura what she wanted for dinner tonight and instead of her usual "chicken nuggets", she said "I want kimchi".   Be still my heart.  I shed a little tear of joy.   I got the instant Korean rice that my Ymo (not Laura's Ymo) had sent me, wrapped it in seaweed (that Ha da buh gee sent me) and pan fried spam.  She ate a ton.  Yum-my

castle island

Castle Island is in South Boston. I took Laura there to meet up with my tennis buddy and her daughters. This was last Wednesday on Aug 13 after work.
Let's just say that the water and beach is not that nice, there's jumbo jets flying low along the skyline. I wasn't even going to post these photos but Ymo was giving me a hard time.

Veronica, Laura and Vivica.
They decided to fill this hole that someone made and this occupied their time for about a good 1/2 hour.

Then they must have pretended it was a jacuzzi.
Laura played at the playground for a little bit before we went to Target for dinner. Yep, Target for dinner: a hot dog and take-out Pizza Hut pizza. We did some shopping too, of course.

playground and cookies

Laura met up with Thomas at the playground yesterday. It was freezing! Summer is already over and I am so sad.
I don't even know what he is talking about but he's cute with all the blue frosting on his face.

pigtails

I braided Laura's hair so that she would look more like a hippie. I love this skirt!

What Laura wants to be when she grows up.

I should have had such aspirations.

new skirt

For tax free weekend, I made some major purchases (dishwasher and iMac) and also some minor ones like this skirt from Gymboree. Laura loves it and I haven't found long skirts for little tots like these. She's worn it for 3 days straight.
Carefree days of summer.

cleaning house

This is what I will be doing for the next month since I will be leaving my current job on Friday and not starting my new job until Oct 1.
I just bought a new iMac since our old computer has been dying a slow death so that is the reason that there has not been any new posts lately.

Bridal shower

I got Korean food catered for the Bridal shower. This spread was awesome.
Maddy and Laura were acting like real princesses.
Maddy and her mom.

Princess Laura
Max and his mom.

Fabulous roof deck.
Ymo is ready to chow.
Ymo ready to chow on the cake.
The game. The presents. Laura helped.

Ymo was so happy with her bridal shower. Then I got to relax a little bit before the long ride back home.
