Goodbye Parkway Preschool!

Laura celebrated her last day at her preschool with a pizza party and cake! Her dad bought her this cake and took these pictures today.
I don't think she had a good time or enjoyed her cake.

Lobster

I bought a couple of lobsters today. Laura was fascinated by them and was rather excited about the whole thing, talking in a loud voice. She kept poking at them and kept yapping nonstop.

She helped me cook them and kept asking all sorts of crazy questions like "did they close their eyes?" "What's coming out of their mouth?" (tentacles). "Are they dead?"

I made her take a big bite of lobster drenched in butter and she said "I don't like it!". Ugh. I was so disappointed so I made her take another big bite and she still didn't change her mind.
She ate corn, fries and cole slaw for dinner.

Sushi!

Girls night out!
We haven't done anything exciting lately except for errands, getting everything ready for Laura's new school and our trip coming up so I took Laura out for sushi. It's been a long time since we ate sushi.
We got an order of Agedashi tofu, salmon, mackerel (Laura did not like) a shrimp tempura roll and Laura's favorite: Tobiko. She wouldn't even share it!

Blueberry Crumb Bars

Laura and I made Blueberry Crumb Bars.
We only used about 1/3 of the blueberries that we picked and I froze the rest.

Thomasina's visit!

Thomasina and her mother came to us for the weekend.
We went blueberry picking on a gorgeous Saturday in Franklin. The blueberries were fantastic.

Then we went to Onset beach again. We played in the water and the sand. There weren't as many hermit crabs as last weekend but there was plenty to do.

Fruit rollup.

Giant bubbles!

Laura buried my feet.

We had sandwiches and cheezits for lunch.
Then I buried Laura in the sand.

Pizza for dinner and ice cream for dessert!

Saturday night, I checked on Laura and she had a 103 degree fever. Ugh. She still ran a fever this morning and it thwarted our plans for day. She was doing better so we just took the girls to the park before saying good bye to Thomasina and her mom! Hope you come back and visit us again.

Zucchini!

Thomas' dad dropped off some zucchini for us from their garden! They're humungous!

Pasgetti

Thomas came over last night! It was a rare treat since we haven't seen him in such a long time. Laura was really delighted. They had dinner and then watched the Tinkerbell movie.

Nadia's birthday

We were invited to go to Ryan's mom's birthday party.

Laura's friend, Vivica was invited as well and they played together the entire time.

They thought it was fun to put tic tacs in their mouths and then spit it out.

Ryan didn't get any attention from Laura. Poor Ryan.

Saturday, August 1

We did a lot today.
When Laura got up in the morning, I went back to bed with her and we snuggled for 10 whole minutes and then we started out day. Laura washed the front hall floors while I worked in the kitchen.

She loves singing the Cinderella song while she washes the floor.

After showering and then getting dressed, Laura helped me finish staining the rest of the front porch. We went to the library but it was closed on Saturdays for the summer. Picked up dry cleaning then we came back home, ate some lunch and started our drive to Onset beach.
This was a great little beach with a lot of boats and the water was very calm. Also people had their dogs on the beach too which I never see at other beaches. Laura thought the water was warm.

There were tons of hermit crabs in the water and we caught a few. Laura was too scared to touch them but we ended up taking 3 small ones back home.

We then headed back home, stopped off at Walmart for necessities and came home exhausted. Phew.
