Words and numbers

Today after breakfast, I went over some words and numbers with Laura.  Laura is very stubborn.  Let me just say that I have to give teachers a lot of credit because even after 30 minutes of this, I was about to pull all of my hair out.  I never thought that looking at feet all day was so much easier.

Another storm

We had another storm but this was mostly sleet and ice.  After the onslaught, there was an inch of ice on the sidewalk so after work and after picking Laura up, I was trying to break the ice on the sidewalk while Laura was playing in the ice covered snow.  It's hard to see because it's so dark out.

Laura's school closed early today so I had to pick her up by 2:30pm due to another snow storm (it wasn't that bad and mostly sleet and rain).  I bought a special treat for Laura, some icebox cookies.  She was waiting for her special treat and getting very impatient.

Then she did a little water coloring.
She helped make and eat some cole slaw.  Ok, I have to get her off the table.

I videotaped Laura while she was playing.  She didn't know I was recording.  Toward the end, she is essentially reenacting our morning ritual when I am yelling at her to hurry up and get ready to get out of the house.  That's pretty funny.

Ok, so she still looks like she's flailing around like she's drowning but at least her head is in the water.

Friday

Laura thinks that wearing her turtleneck on her head is really really funny.

More blooms!

Sledding

Today was MLK holiday so we had the day off.  Laura and I went sledding.  It snowed another few inches and it wasn't frigid cold like the past week so it was perfect.  Laura was really excited.  

Thomas and his dad met up with us a little later.  Thomas was not very interested in sledding. He just wanted to play in the snow.  He must have gone down the hill maybe a total of 4 times.

After sledding, we drank some hot tea in the car to warm up.



Then I was wiped out and had to take a nap.

Sunday

Laura woke up looking wrecked.  I think I should put her to bed a little earlier from now on.

It snowed AGAIN.  I can't stand it anymore and couldn't even get myself to go out to help shovel.  Laura, however, was more than happy to "help" her dad shovel this morning.

Matthew from next door "helped" too.





We did the usual Sunday ritual.  Laura went to yoga while her mom and dad played tennis then she had her swim lesson.  I keep forgetting to bring the camera.  She is really improving.

After dinner, Laura got to watch Beauty and the Beast and then went to bed promptly at 8:30pm.

Morning shot and nasty food combinations

This is Laura in the morning with her tea.  Kinda rough.  She looks like a 57 yo after a long night of heavy drinking.

I made some homemade applesauce and Laura thought it would taste great with rice cakes.

I shouldn't complain because this will help her develop some more diverse taste buds but still... it's nasty.

I got this orchid from a friend of mine almost 4 years ago and it just bloomed for the first time.

We visited Thomas today and he showed us his new toy with its "commode" (remote).

Nothing exciting going on.  I'm still recovering from Christmas and getting back into the groove of work.

I just took some random shots of Laura eating her apple and then a fruit rollup.

What?  I can have a fruit roll up?!

Monday

Lazy Monday night.  We got into our pajamas early.  Laura watched a short video and ate pineapples by the Christmas tree before going to bed.
