It feels like summer

Water balloon fight!

Our other neighbors got a new trampoline.  I had to drag this girl off of this thing.  It will be good for the summer because she will probably play on this thing for hours at a time.  It's its own babysitter.

Sunny Saturday

Today was hot and sunny and felt like a summer day.  I took Laura to ride her bike at the Millenium Park.  I have lived here for almost 8 years and never knew about this park.  It's set up on a big 350 acre hill and it's really gorgeous.  Lots of wind for great kite flying and paths for biking.

When we got home, the boys were doing the water slide again today but at least it was warm enough for it.  Laura just watched them and laughed.

The Rocket

Laura got a new red bike called "The Rocket".  Ignore the sticker on her forehead.  All the girls at Preschool are doing it.  That's Jack, our neighbor, in the background.  He thinks it's summer already.  They were doing the water slide in the back yard and it's only 70 degrees out!
We took a couple laps around the block.  Laura couldn't figure out how to stop by pushing the pedal backwards.  She took a tumble and skinned her elbow after the 3rd lap.   Poor little girl. The first of many, I'm sure.

The dentist

I took Laura for her first dental appointment for a checkup and cleaning.  She had a great experience and got lots of goodies.

orange marmalade muffins

We made these muffins tonight that I got from here.

We made 1/2 the recipe and made mini muffins.  I thought they were just good but Laura loved them and ate 5 in a row.

Wishing it was warm.

Laura wore this outfit the other day when it was a little warmer but today is very cold and rainy.  We can't wait for summer!

Friday

I forgot to post this on Friday.  The weather was gorgeous and hit 70 degrees.  After I picked her up from school, we decided to splurge and went to the Real Deal and got pizza.  Then we went next door for ice cream.  She is now on convert and wants the soft serve vanilla with chocolate dip top.  Yum.  My favorite.
She has that look of "mom, hurry up and take the picture so I can finish my ice cream!".

Artichoke

On Saturday, Laura and I went to the grocery store.  I bought an artichoke to eat for a snack and she put on her full chef gear again. I don't know why she needs the whole get-up to steam an artichoke.

I made a mayo sauce and butter for dipping.  She chose butter.

She ate a ton of it and ate most of the artichoke heart.  It was yummy.
I made her shuck some corn so that her outfit didn't go to waste.  She has been wanting to help a lot lately on almost everything.   I can't wait to show her how to scrub the floors and wash the windows.

Easter week Part 1

Laura and I flew down to Philly on Tuesday afternoon.  We hung out with Hah dah buh gee. The weather was rather chilly.
We did a lot of grocery shopping and errands for most of Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Thursday, the weather got a little warmer so I took Laura to the playground.

Later that day, we were invited to Zoe and Aaron's place for Passover dinner.  That's Mark really enjoying the conversation.
We had a traditional dinner upstairs while the kids played for most of the night in the basement.  Laura decided that she's going to join a band and go out on tour.
She just can't decide on what instrument she wants to play.
She also played with Walter for a few minutes.

Laura had a great time and didn't eat anything because she was playing with the big kids.  I, on the other hand, ate very well and drank too much Manishevitz wine.  Good times.

Easter Week Part 2

Friday morning, we colored some Easter eggs with ymo.

It turned out to be a gorgeous day so we went to the park.
She didn't want to pose.

Patty Cake.

Ymoboo came later that afternoon.  We made a rib roast for dinner and Jim had some fish.   Somchun Jimmy came in late around 9pm and had leftovers.
Saturday was very cold and rainy.

Hubby flew down in the morning.
We did not have any plans for the day so we went to Rita's for Gelati and we froze some more and then we went bowling.  I almost won but Jim slipped past me on the last frame.
Laura bowled a little bit before getting frustrated, just like her ymo.
Boo.  I didn't want to post ymo crying too.  That's embarrassing.
That evening, the young minister from my dad's church came to the condo and lead a small service for my mom's 2nd year memorial.  There was about 30 people who came and sat cramped in the little condo.  Then we all went down the street to a Chinese buffet place for dinner.
