My daddy

We were in the car after going to the Himalayan Bistro. My hubby makes a U-turn to go home.

Me: Where are you going, Big Daddy?
Laura: He's my daddy, not your daddy!
Me: He's my Big Daddy!
Laura: He's my daddy and your babe!

I guess I should clarify this post with the following.
Me: What's daddy's name?
Laura: Babe
Me: What's mommy's name?
Laura: Woman

I've been away

I went to Philly for a conference then a wedding in Baltimore where I picked up one of my best friends, took a trip back to Philly for a Korean senior dance then NYC to visit more friends and finally Boston. It was a jam packed event and one of the longest trips that I have taken without Laura. Laura stayed home with her father. Here she is ready to go out to dinner in her coat because it has been cold and rainy.

We took my friend to West which has great atmosphere and very mediocre food.
Here's my girlfriend reading a book to Laura.
I told Laura that I was driving my friend to the airport and she asked "Is mommy coming back?". Boy I missed this little bugger.

Spicy

I gave Laura some wasabi covered rice crackers. This was her reaction. Is this considered child abuse?
Ok, so this is actually like the 5th video I took b/c she would keep eating it despite the pain. Boy, kids are dumb.

Thomasina's visit

A very close friend of mine and her daughter, Thomasina, came to visit for the weekend. So not to confuse Thomasina with her Thomas, she would say, "Thomasina like a girl".

Laura surprised me with 2 things this weekend:
1. She is no longer afraid of dogs (I have no idea how this happened)
2. She can now swing all by herself (actually not as surprising since she is always on the swing at preschool when I pick her up)

Thomasina is about 6 months younger but incredibly brilliant. Her verbal skills and comprehension as well as memory are astounding.

Thomasina giving the thumbs up.

Laura swinging on her own.
Hmmm. Wonder who's gonna win this one.

We invited ourselves over to Kie's house with a bounty of sausages as a bribe.
How girly is this?

Laura's first bubble tea

Watching the dragon dance

Laura and Thomas were jumping around and dancing while watching the dragons but once the dragons jumped off the stage to the street, both of them ran into the crowd. Scaredy cats.

Under the table

Dim Sum then Boston Commons

China Pearl with Thomas and some people from work. Laura ate all the clams and snails. Good girl.

Laura trying to figure out how to get the snail out of the shell.

Yep, they're both under the table but at least they were being quiet.

Boston Commons

Thomas and Laura being bad and running off, again.
Roadkill

Frog pond

Roughed up

Last week, I got a phone call from her preschool at 11AM. Of course, I was a little panicked when I saw the number come up on the cell phone but they said "This is just standard procedure, Laura is fine BUT she fell outside and has some scratches on her face". The play area at the preschool out back is completely covered in gravel and Laura being so coordinated and graceful fell face first into the gravel. Poor little girl. The park

It's been almost 2 weeks since Laura has hung out with her buddy Thomas. They met up at the park and had a great time together. Thomas actually came up to me and said "Hi, Alan, where's Laura?" It's unbelievable but I think he actually missed her.

Yes, they were screaming at the top of their lungs.
They also hung out like hoodlums under one of the structures and pretended to eat mulch. Blech. That's when I knew it was time to go home.
