Sunday

We did the usual Sunday routine: 2hrs of tennis, Laura had her swim lesson, late lunch at Panera's.
Later that afternoon, Laura and I decided to walk to Sugar Bakery for some Woopie Pies. I called Thomas to see if he would like to join us for a walk with his dad. It was nice and sunny and in the 80's. Thomas was looking for some ants to eat.

When we got to the bakery, it was closed so we went to the ice cream place next door. As soon as we left, there was a downpour. We (Thomas' dad and I) kept dry under the T station platform. The kids, however, went crazy in the rain.

They were having a great time until Laura tripped and scraped her knee. Look at that face.
Thomas' mom picked us up.
Laura was asking Thomas to stop screaming. Why do boys scream so much?

Saturday

Nothing too exciting this week. The weather has been weird all week. Overcast, bouts of thunderstorms, muggy, blech.
I got Laura a kite and she's been eying it in the closet for the past week so after much begging and pleading, I put it together and let her loose in the back yard today. She must have run around the house at least 10 times.

We had a snack and then we went swimming. Laura is just starting to learn how to tread water. I was so proud of her. Then I took her for some ice cream (orange sherbet, her favorite) and then we came home for some dinner.

Where the hell is Matt?

This has been floating around on the internet. It has nothing to do with Laura but every time I watch it, it makes me cry.

Vivica's birthday party

Laura was invited to Vivica's 5th birthday party at "The Little Gym".

The birthday girl.
Under the parachute. (yes, I went under the parachute too. I'm a crazy camera mom)
Ice cream cake.
Laura had a great time. She knew a bunch of the girls there so she really participated and ran around a lot.
When we got home, she put on her apron and heels. Hmmm. What's that about?

Strawberry picking!

Dimitri and his grandma joined us for strawberry picking at Belkin's Lookout Farm.

Thomas and his parents joined us a little later.
We went back to the car to put the strawberries away. Laura and Thomas were screaming for no reason.
Then we went back on the "train" to the playground and ate lunch. We let the kids run around.
There was a maze.

A petting zoo.
It was fun but labor intensive. Laura and I collapsed after we got home and took a long nap.

Preschool graduation

Laura graduated from preschool on Thursday night and is now entering.... preschool. Okay, it was more a ceremony for the kids that are leaving and going into kindergarten.

Here are Laura's buddies, Rory and Thomas.

Here's Patsy, the owner.
Start humming the graduation theme: daaaa dadada daaaa daaaa
Laura receiving her diploma.
The ceremony was all of 5 minutes and they hired a clown to entertain the kids afterwards. As soon as she showed, Laura panicked and one of her teachers brought her to me b/c Laura is deathly afraid of clowns and almost had a meltdown. I was kinda scared of this one too.
Laura just hung out with me and ate some snacks and then went off to play by herself.
They got these ring pops and a present (sidewalk chaulk) for their graduation presents.
