Roger Rabbit

Laura's homework project for "child of the week" was bringing home this filthy disgusting ginormous stuffed animal named Roger Rabbit home for the weekend and taking photos of what he did with Laura over the weekend.
Laura and I got some sushi for dinner on Friday night and Roger drooled.
Then Laura read him "Green Eggs and Ham" before going to bed. I did not let Roger sleep with her!
We also took a trip to Trader Joe's.
Then the gym on Sunday.
Roger did not take a dunk!

Mommy and me

Laura drew this yesterday. The taller one by about 1 inch is mommy and Laura is on the right. We are both in multicolored dresses with very high collars.

Laura and I went to her pediatrician's office this morning, bright and early, for her flu shot. The flu clinic was supposed to start at 9AM and we got there at 8:50AM and it was a mob scene!
We had to wait 2 hours for her to get her shot! This put a delay on our apple picking outing!
We went this year rather late. Dmitri went to New Hampshire so he did not make it this year! It was very cold today and only in the upper 40's. Brrrr.

John put Thomas on his shoulders in order to get some of these grapes but it was futile. It was just too high to pick.
Emma bought a bounty of Asian pears.
The Asian pears were incredibly ripe and juicy. So juicy, they burst when you bit into them. I think I ate maybe 4 of them in a matter of minutes. Really delicious.

It was too cold to hang out outside or go to the park so we essentially picked our fruit very quickly and then came back to our place for some hot tea. Hopefully next year, it won't be so cold.

It's Fall already?!

I can't believe it's the middle of October already and it is sooooo cold. Boo.
Laura has been pretty happy with Kindergarten. She seems to be really enjoying it and actually learning. It is still very difficult getting her up in the morning. She is truly her father in that she loves staying up late and sleeping in in the mornings.
I picked up this pumpkin last week so we finally got around to decorating it.
Yes, that is Laura with a sharp sawing instrument. She really likes doing things on her own.
Laura drew her family on the pumpkin. That's Laura in the front.

Columbus Day weekend

Nothing exciting this weekend.

Laura worked on her homework that is due next week. She has to make a poster featuring herself. It's for "Child of the week" and she puts pictures of people and things she likes to do. I guess it's a way for the kids to talk about themselves in front of the class.

Then we had cake on Sunday for my birthday. It's not 41, it's not 40. It should say 39. It's my wish.
Monday, Laura and I did some shopping at the outlets. It was jam packed.

Happy Columbus Day!

Ok, I know a lot of this sound jumbled but it's cute. At least she is learning something at school.

The weekend

It rained all day Saturday so we didn't do much. We (actually I) cleaned up Laura's room. She did some writing exercises.
Then she watched a movie. A whole lot of nothing.

On Sunday, the weather cleared up some. She was invited to one of her classmate's birthday party at the Dedham movie theatre at 9:15AM to 11:30AM! It was "Monsters vs. Aliens". I wanted to see the movie but thought that a power yoga class was in order so I left her at the movies.

Her friend, Lilah was at the party too so Laura was very happy and didn't even want me to stay.
Then after a quick lunch of soup and bread at Panera's, we went back to the gym so I could play tennis and Laura could go to her yoga class! After we got home, Laura played with our neighbor's kid, Ashley. Finally, a girl in the neighborhood. She even gave Laura a bracelet for her birthday. How nice is that?! And do you know what Laura did?

That's right, she jumped rope. She's an addict. She's gotten a lot better after just 1 week.

jump rope

Laura came home and jumped rope the whole night only stopping to eat dinner and take a bath. She watched some of the bigger kids jumping rope at school and now she's addicted.

Laura's 5th birthday!

Laura has been so excited about her birthday. She's been badgering me for weeks and asking if it's her birthday yet.
Vivica and her sister showed up early.
Then Thomas arrived.
And little baby Aliza.
The day was gorgeous so the kids played a lot outside.
Laura ran into the house and said that they found a bunny outside and they could pet it. I figured, that it had to be a wild dead rabbit but I was wrong. It was a floppy eared rather large tame rabbit. They were chasing it and petting her for a while and then her owner finally showed up and said that she had escaped her pen.

They played pin the tail on the donkey.
This is her ridiculous dancing Barbie cake. It was actually very tasty.
Happy birthday, my little girl. She had a great time.

Early birthday present

Laura got an early gift from "uncle" Wonton.

She only wishes it was real!

Cheater stromboli

Laura and I made stromboli made out of ready made pizza dough. She had gym class today so she wore her gym clothes to school. When I picked her up, Laura proclaimed that she does not like gym class.

So far, she likes school but doesn't like to stay for the afterschool program. I picked her up at the usual time between 5:30pm and 6pm and she said that I was too late picking her up.

Saturday

Today, I woke up at 1pm. Hubby woke up at noon and then came back to bed to check if I was dead because I have never slept that long. I kept checking all the clocks because I couldn't believe I slept that long. We all slept more than 12 hours. We woke Laura up shortly after and it took a while to get her up too.
Just as well since it was rainy all day. We didn't do much of anything but vegged out.
