Thursday and Friday

My cousin came to visit with his fiance so we did all things that involved eating. I picked them up at the bus station on Wednesday night.
Thursday morning, Laura is ready for school.

We went to Legals Seafood on Thursday night b/c cousin loves clam chowder but overall the food that night was not very good.

Friday, we went to China town for a late lunch for "hot pot" at Shabu Zen.

Laura liked the little clams. It was also my first taste of Mochi. It was filled with green tea ice cream and was really yummy.

Laura went to her swim class and then we made swordfish kebobs in aioli sauce for dinner. Laura helped with the cooking.
She still ended up eating General Gao's chicken after dinner.

Kimchi

I was at a conference in DC all weekend so Laura spent the weekend with her daddy.
I got some radish kimchi from a friend at work and I gave it to Laura for dessert .
She would put 2 pieces into the water bowl.
Then spin it around to make sure all the red pepper was off the kimchi.
Eat each one
Keep her eyes closed and sway back and forth like Ray Charles. Then take a swig of milk.
This went on and on and she would have eaten the whole container but I took it away from her before she had any major GI issues.

Sunglasses

I got these sunglasses (or as Laura calls it "blasses") yesterday. She loves them. If you click on the photo, you can see the little diamonds on them. So chic.

Weekend

Friday night, Laura and I watched The Little Mermaid for the hundredth time. Then she tucked herself in my bed and wanted to sleep with me. How could I say no to that face.

Saturday morning, after breakfast, we had cake!

Then we met up with Thomas at the park. I didn't tell her so it was a little surpise. Can you tell that she was excited?

Then we stopped over at Thomas' house.
They got to have their "special treats" even though they didn't deserve it after running off in the field at the playground.
We came home and I told Laura that I was going to make dinner so she got herself ready to help me. I made some turkey burgers that she inhaled. After dinner, we made chocolate chip cookies. Laura put the pony tails in her hair all by herself.

Chicken lettuce wraps

This is consistently the one meal that Laura will chow down on and I don't have to constantly tell her to eat her dinner. It's a recipe I got online which is a copycat of the PF Chang's restaurant version. I use ground turkey instead. Yummy.

Mother's Day present

This is my mother's day present from Laura. I think she was trying to write her name in Korean.

Tuesday

Laura got picked up from preschool by Thomas' parents and they all walked back to their house. When I came by to pick her up, they were killing ants on the sidewalk.
Thomas wanted Laura to hang out so we stayed for dinner.

nice weather

It was cold and rainy all weekend. Today, it was finally feeling like spring. After preschool, Laura wanted to play with the neighborhood kids. She is the youngest of the group and wants to do what they are doing which causes some frustration on her part since she does not have the "no fear" gene.
She tried unsuccessfully to swing on this rope.
Look at that angst.
She didn't really swing. She just kind of hung.
Then she climbed the neighbor's tree.
She got a little bit higher than last time. Maybe she has a little teensy bit of the gene.

Another birthday party

Laura was invited to Faith's (preschool kid) birthday party. It was pretty last minute but we didn't have any other plans and it was a cold and rainy day. This is Faith's sister Grace. She must go to the same preschool as well b/c when Laura came through the door, Grace screamed "It's my friend, Laura!"
This was the same place that Theo had his party.
Faith's mom hired a magician. I felt bad b/c after about 10 minutes, all the kids took off to play.
Laura would go into this mini house, put the baby in the carseat and vacuum the floor.
The chocolate birthday cake wasn't enough, we came home and Laura attacked this woopie pie.
