Laura was showing us some of her yoga moves today.

Then we made a Valentine's day vanilla butter cake with frosting since I will be out of town next weekend. It was really really good.

Homemade oreo cookies

Laura and I made these last night from a recipe that I got from here.

Suffice it to say that my diet is not going very well. I thought they were still on the sweet side even though I cut the sugar by 1/4 cup. It was fun making them though.

Today after breakfast, I went over some words and numbers with Laura. Laura is very stubborn. Let me just say that I have to give teachers a lot of credit because even after 30 minutes of this, I was about to pull all of my hair out. I never thought that looking at feet all day was so much easier.

Another storm

We had another storm but this was mostly sleet and ice. After the onslaught, there was an inch of ice on the sidewalk so after work and after picking Laura up, I was trying to break the ice on the sidewalk while Laura was playing in the ice covered snow. It's hard to see because it's so dark out.

Laura's school closed early today so I had to pick her up by 2:30pm due to another snow storm (it wasn't that bad and mostly sleet and rain). I bought a special treat for Laura, some icebox cookies. She was waiting for her special treat and getting very impatient.

Yummy cookies.

Very happy after 3 cookies.

Then she did a little water coloring.

She helped make and eat some cole slaw. Ok, I have to get her off the table.

I videotaped Laura while she was playing. She didn't know I was recording. Toward the end, she is essentially reenacting our morning ritual when I am yelling at her to hurry up and get ready to get out of the house. That's pretty funny.

Sledding

Today was MLK holiday so we had the day off. Laura and I went sledding. It snowed another few inches and it wasn't frigid cold like the past week so it was perfect. Laura was really excited.

Thomas and his dad met up with us a little later. Thomas was not very interested in sledding. He just wanted to play in the snow. He must have gone down the hill maybe a total of 4 times.

This was Thomas playing in the snow by himself.

Laura and I went down the hill together.

After sledding, we drank some hot tea in the car to warm up.

Then I was wiped out and had to take a nap.

Sunday

Laura woke up looking wrecked. I think I should put her to bed a little earlier from now on.

It snowed AGAIN. I can't stand it anymore and couldn't even get myself to go out to help shovel. Laura, however, was more than happy to "help" her dad shovel this morning.

Matthew from next door "helped" too.

We did the usual Sunday ritual. Laura went to yoga while her mom and dad played tennis then she had her swim lesson. I keep forgetting to bring the camera. She is really improving.
