Preschool graduation

Laura graduated from preschool on Thursday night and is now entering.... preschool. Okay, it was more a ceremony for the kids that are leaving and going into kindergarten.

Here are Laura's buddies, Rory and Thomas.

Here's Patsy, the owner.
Start humming the graduation theme: daaaa dadada daaaa daaaa
Laura receiving her diploma.
The ceremony was all of 5 minutes and they hired a clown to entertain the kids afterwards. As soon as she showed, Laura panicked and one of her teachers brought her to me b/c Laura is deathly afraid of clowns and almost had a meltdown. I was kinda scared of this one too.
Laura just hung out with me and ate some snacks and then went off to play by herself.
They got these ring pops and a present (sidewalk chaulk) for their graduation presents.

Summer Shack

Laura and I joined hubby for his annual work dinner at the Summer Shack in Cambridge last night. Laura was kinda bored b/c the food took forever to come to the table. Here's Laura at the lobster tanks.
Playing with the gumball machine. She tried her first raw oyster and asked for more. (that's my girl!). She only got one b/c the first one she tried ended up on the floor. The waste!

Father's day

We didn't do anything exciting for Father's Day. Laura made a butterfly card for him. I was going to make ricotta pancakes but hubby opted for oatmeal because we haven't been eating that healthy lately.
For dinner I grilled some beef and sliced it over a healthy salad.

On Monday, Laura helped me make homemade pizza.
This was her mini pizza.
For dessert, I introduced Laura to S'mores. Yum. There was a storm brewing outside so I toasted the marshmallows on the stove instead of the grill.
Yum, yum.
She ate it reluctantly saying that she didn't like the cracker (graham cracker). Ugh. The disappointment.

Saturday

We went to a matinee to watch Kung Fu Panda. Hubby and I laughed out loud for most of the movie and we were really entertained. Laura would pull me down and say "mommy, I don't like this movie". She would cover her eyes if there was any remote possibility that something scary could come up.

bubbles

These are some of the great pictures that my cousin sent to me from his visit.
This picture below is my favorite.
Ugh. They caught me giving Laura the evil eye.

Playground

Laura shows off her new acrobatic feat but really, all she wanted to do was show off her underwear.

Saturday, June 7

After a whole week of cold and rainy weather, the weather changed drastically to a hot hot summer day. Laura and I ate Ramen noodles and kimchi for lunch. Then I ran some errands and we got ice cream at dairy freeze. Yummy! Laura got the orange sherbert/vanilla combo.
Then she begged me to go to the park so I took her to one that has water sprinklers because it was so hot.
Thomas just happened to be there when we walked in. He would go into the sprinklers and then run back to us and say "I'm all wet".

I was exhausted from the heat when I got home. Hubby made some really saucy ribs for dinner. Then we got some treats at Sugar bakery and got some movies for the night. That's a great summer day.

Good dunker

Laura really wanted to go to the park this afternoon after preschool. The weather was gorgeous.

She took some photos with my camera.

Then she wanted me to take a picture of her.
After an hour, we were about to leave but Thomas showed up so we stayed a little longer. We ended up going back to his house to meet his new guinea pig that he named Raisin (because his poop looks like raisins).

Grocery shopping

Laura just likes to do stuff. She's like me in that sense. Here she is attacking corn with a vengeance. I wish I could have just left her here to shuck all the corn in the bin while I went grocery shopping but that would make me look like a bad mother.

Weekend

Laura's dad took her to see this on Saturday morning. Laura had a great time and her dad had a nice nap. Her mom went shopping at the outlet mall. Weeeee.
Then they had lunch at PF Chang's.

Sunday was a gorgeous day. She played with the neighbors for a little bit. Then her dad and I played tennis. I took Laura swimming and she mastered the kickboard and kept yelling to anyone that was in hearing distance "Hey, look, I can swim!". Yeah, I wish.

Then we met up with Thomas at the playground.
She ate lobster salad for a snack and red hot potato chips for dessert. That's my girl.
