We were invited to Kai's home for Thanksgiving dinner. We made the turkey and some side dishes and brought it over.

The weekend
I can't believe it's going to be Thanksgiving this week because I am completely unprepared.
We didn't get much done this weekend. Saturday night hubby and I went to Vox Populi downtown for his friend's get together before their wedding on Saturday. It was very fun but Laura was not invited so she stayed with Thomas' family.
Sunday, we did our usual: tennis for 2 hours, Laura had her swimming lesson then we were very very bad and had McDonald's for an early dinner. It's still sitting in my stomach, ugh.
Laura and I cleaned up her room and then snacked on some cheetos and worked on her preschool book. We've been doing that every night this week.
She found her sunglasses while cleaning and decided she needed to wear it.

Hot sauce
Laura's taste buds continue to surprise me. Besides sushi, anchovy stuffed olives, stinky blue cheese and kimchi, she also loves hot sauce. She's not a big fan of eggs so all I have to do is sprinkle some hot sauce on it and she tolerates it.
The week
I took these photos on Tuesday. Hubby has been working hard all week so Laura and I have been hanging out together and indulging. This new job has me working much longer hours so it has been difficult getting dinner on the table so we have been eating out a lot. I need to either start prepping for the week or get a menu together but that is way too much work right now.
I introduced Laura to the concept of eating dessert before dinner. We went to The Real Deal for pizza but ate this yummy chocolate cake prior to getting our dinner.
On Wednesday night, instead of going to a lecture dinner meeting, I took Thomas and his dad for sushi. It has been a long time since we got together. They ate a ton. Laura loves salmon and yellowtail and she's getting pretty good with the chopsticks.

The weekend
We didn't do much this past weekend. Hubby worked all weekend. The weather was rainy and very windy. Laura restarted her swimming class on Sunday.
She also decided that she needed a haircut and snuck a pair of scissors into her room and chopped away at her hair. She was being so quiet in her room that I knew that something was up. She was hiding behind her door and stuffing the cut hair into her trash can.
Doesn't she look like a teenager already? All slumped over and concentrating on some small thing. She spent 1/2 an hour combing this little dolls hair and trying to tie her hair up. In about 10 years, this will be her texting on her phone or something and saying "stop bothering me, mom!".

Being 40
Laura: Are you and daddy 40?
Me: Yes, Laura, we're both 40.
Laura: Then you're old. I'm 4 so I'm new.

video from Florida
I forgot to post this. The kids playing tag during our visit to Nana and Poppi's.
Saturday, November 8
Laura and I give each other the evil eye once in a while and she was trying to do it this morning but not doing a good job.
We spent most of the day at the gym and then went to the grocery store and bought a lot of healthy food. Then we broke down and went to Five Guys for burgers. We're so weak.

Hubby went to work tonight so I spent most of the night reorganizing and cleaning a little bit. Laura spent the night rummaging through all my shoes and trying them on. Ah, Ymo's genes are surfacing. Speaking of Ymo, happy birthday in Egypt.

Since hubby was working tonight, I told Laura that she could sleep with me. Instead, she made her own little bed on the floor and turned off the light because she wanted to go to bed. She asked me 2 or 3 times if we could go to sleep. Wow, she must be coming down with something.

Photo shoot
On Saturday, we went to Nana and Poppi's house and joined all of their clan. We had an impromptu photo shoot of all the kids.
